“My best childfree life consists of a beautiful polyam/open relationship with my anchor person.”

Mich, 37, Germany

The only times in my life where I vaguely considered having kids were 1) when my elderly relatives told me it was weird that I didn’t want kids (I was 12!), and 2) when I felt super lonely in my life and wanted “something that is always linked to me so I’m never alone”. I’ve become this “something” for myself now!

My best childfree life consists of a beautiful polyam/open relationship with my anchor person (who was kind enough to have a vasectomy six months after meeting me), being a caregiver to my fur babies, and just… being me.

I am what you could call a motherly figure. I’m caring, giving, warm-hearted and I absolutely see myself becoming the anchor point and mother figure of my chosen family/Polycule that I’m trying to build. I’d like to show how being all this can be applied without being an “actual” mother and how it can go across species-boundaries.
