“This world is insane and I’m so happy that I just have myself to look after and worry about!”
“I’m proud of myself for being 'selfish' and not having a child, because I'd be worried that I could have passed my health issues down to them.”
I remember an abusive ex-boyfriend (who I had every intention of marrying so I could stay in the USA) saying to me that we were going to have two boys no matter what, and that if we found out I was pregnant with girls they would be aborted immediately. I was horrified!
When we finally broke up I made my decision to stick to what I’d always wanted and to not have kids. I never wanted them, I prefer to travel and buy what I want and sleep in until whenever I want.
In recent years I’ve been diagnosed with a few health issues, and to be honest it makes me proud of myself for being ‘selfish’ and not having a child, because I’d be worried that I could have passed my health issues down to them. People who worry about being alone in later life and have kids to ensure they’re always looked after are, to me, far more selfish than I could ever be.

No regrets ever. And I’m the cool aunt I always wanted to be!
