WE ARE CHILDFREE

First of all, I would like to thank you guys for all the hard and beautiful work you do every day since the creation of WAC!

You cannot imagine how it feels for a young guy like me to finally meet a community who’s sharing my belief and my values. It has been so helpful to see that I’m not alone, I’m not weird, I’m not different.

I’m childfree by choice and choice is valid. I know it because of you and all the lovely people bringing their voice in this community.

I’m here to add my voice to this proud childfree movement! I don’t know if it could help anybody but even if it’s useful for only one person, it would be fantastic.

I’m Ugo, a French 30 yo guy, wine and food enthusiast and deeeeeply in love with my wonderful wife for 15 years now.

We are married and we don’t want kids. That’s a fact. Difficult for some people to imagine… (yes we already had aaaaall the idiot basic remarks we know about…)

I love my life the way it is now. I love to fully enjoy my relationship with my best friend. I love to be fully free of doing whatever I want even if I’m not planning such an incredible life of career and travel and richness… but I’ve the freedom of choosing whatever I want!

In addition, we all have traumas and mental health issues… I don’t want to continue the circle of familial trauma and pass it to another human being who never have asked for that!

For me, being childfree is freedom in all the ways you can imagine. I love freedom and I love to
have the choice! As for abortion, end of life, sterilisation, contraception methods: each person must have the choice of what they do with their body and life!

By the way, my vasectomy is planned in two months. Should we do a party for it?
