“I never really realised being childfree was a choice - which sounds a bit weird now - but it made sense.”
When I was younger I just always assumed I would have kids one day, but that changed in my late twenties when I discovered childfree groups on Facebook.
I never really realised it was a choice which sounds a bit weird now, but it made sense. I’m autistic and disabled and blatantly I would be a rubbish parent.
Luckily I’m engaged to a man who also doesn’t want children. He has nephews and nieces and he finds them a struggle so not having kids is the right decision for us.
I’m also a writer and coincidentally most of my main characters have been childfree 😊
I didn’t intentionally write them that way, apart from one story, but that’s the way it is.
I’m so grateful I found the childfree community. My life is fab just the way it is and I feel children would ruin it somehow.
