WE ARE CHILDFREE

“I fully knew the risk of my surgery, but quite frankly I was willing to die for it.”

I got my tubes removed at age 24. Best decision I’ve ever made. My inner child will forever thank me for this decision.

My realization came when my parents had my younger sibling. They were older when she was born, and left the responsibility of raising her to me and my older sister as they were always working.

Experiencing this and missing out on the some of the best years of my childhood, I knew I never wanted to experience that again. I’m grateful to have had that experience, but I knew that I was never capable of fully loving a baby like that again. It’s too much of a commitment for me. I realised that I love myself so much more than to compromise and put my life on pause for someone else.

When I got my surgery last year, I fully knew the risk, but quite frankly I was willing to die for it. That’s how I knew that it was the right choice for me. My inner child thrives knowing it’ll only be me, myself and I.

This decision has allowed me to break hispanic generational cycles, and to prove to others that young Latinas can break out of this as well.

I am able to have infinite freedom over my life and I wouldn’t want to have it any other way. Childfree life is the new generation.
